I came across this funny story the other day.
Tom Bedford, the son of the London Marathon race director bet his father (after a couple of drinks in a pub, of course) that he could run a sub 2:25 marathon if properly trained. And his father took up on the bet!
He has 3 years to accomplish and all bets against him go to the Entoto Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises money for health care for Ethiopians to gain access to health care needs.
So far he 'failed' twice. He ran a 2:33 in the Marine Corps Marathon and recently ran a 2:47 in San Diego. In his latest attempt he was actually paced by Ryan Hall and Josh Cox. Here is the interview he gave afterwards.
If you are a betting person go ahead.
