I had a longer than usual mid-week run yesterday evening. It was amazing!
I knew I would never be able to drag myself out of bed early enough to run before work, so I planned for an evening run instead. It was a good choice. I ran 13 miles after work in lower Manhattan and the weather was just simply perfect for an early evening run. It was sunny and in the low 50s. With so many runners and bikers enjoying the nice weather.
I did five 2 milers at expected marathon pace of 6:55 minute mile, with a steady half-mile recovery between repeats. I started at the 23rd St NYHRC, went west to the Hudson River path south to Battery Park and then up the East River path to Montgomery Street and then back again to the gym.
It is going to be a busy weekend as well. I am planning to run a 16 miler at 7:30 minute mile on Saturday morning and then have a 15K race on Sunday morning.
The knees are doing OK, but definitely sore.

The Colon Cancer race is Sunday morning, according to the NYRR website, and not in the evening... Don't want you to miss it.
Great job on the run -- that sounds amazing! I'm doing 13 tomorrow morning and then taking it light all weekend.
Oops you are right. Just corrected the entry. Where is my head?
