Back to running

It seems that my knee and ankle are healed. (Knock on wood.) I had my first full week running and have not felt either injury.

Despite swimming these past 2 months,I lost a lot of my fitness. This week I only ran about 15 miles, which is half of what I normally run on weekly basis, and I have had plenty of muscle aches as well.

The longest run of the week was this morning`s 4 miler with Robert along East River. He only took a few days off during the holidays and is still in pretty good shape. I had a rough time trying to keep up with him during the first leg of our run. I could hardly speak and almost told him to just go ahead without me. He mercifully realized that I was struggling and politely asked how I was doing. We slowed down to a pace that I could follow. We still finished at a decent 7 min mile pace, but I surely have a long way to go till I get back to my previous running shape.

LOL. It's great to have you back. And, as I said in the email, you've had to slow down for me many more times than I've had to slow down for you... :-)
