Running in 2010

New Year's Eve was a quiet affair. Long has been the times when I would spend the whole evening awake to celebrate the coming of a new year. Never enjoyed quite that much back then, less even now. After spending most of the afternoon making sure that my apartment `looked` decent and clean, I met up with friends in a bar downtown. We roamed to a few other places till it stroke 12 and when they decided to go Brooklyn, it was my cue to go back home. I was nice and cozy in bed by 1am.

My first run in the new decade (Is it really a new decade? Does it not start with a `1`? Or was there ever a year `0`?) was longish 12M in Central Park this morning. The park still looked amazing with still a coat of snow from yesterday`s storm. Sadly I neglected to bring my camera with me. I threw a fartlek in the middle to spice it up a bit. I felt flat throughout the run, not sure if it was the drinking from last evening (though I hardly drank anything and felt file in the morning). At any rate, just hope this is not a harbinger for the rest of the year.

I will finish with my wishes of a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Good work starting the year (and decade) with a nice longish run. I'm sure the "flatness" was just a passing thing and nothing to worry about. Less than 16 weeks to Boston. You'll be able to prove then that 2010 is a good year.
