Among the most memorable characters I have come across during a race was the Minnie Mouse runner during my frustrated Boston Marathon race earlier this year. We ran almost side by side for a good 10 miles before I decided to intensify the pace -- I was not going to be beaten by Minnie Mouse! I was doing pretty well until fatigue and cramps foiled my plans. I think Minnie passed me around Mile 21 and went on to finish the race 15 minutes ahead of me.
I saw him again running the NYC Marathon in early November. I was happy to see him and wanted him to do well. I learned my lesson: Concentrate on your own race. Besides, who`s to tell you that you are better than a Disney character.

Hahaha! Don't forget about the guy in the pink tutu either!
same adage as well- best to focus on your own race and i've seen that character in the 2008 NYC as well!
Just saw Minnie Mouse runner at Chicago Marathon 2011. I know this isn't the first time I've seen him in Chicago.
I googled "minnie mouse runner" and this was the top link. :-)
